Thai red rice is a whole grain rice with a red bran layer that is kept on the grain after husking. Red Hom Mali, also called red jasmine rice, combines a light aroma with a nutty flavour. Red rice is higher in fibre than white rice and is used in health-focused and specialty ranges.

Cooking and selling red rice
Red rice takes a little longer to cook than white rice and has a firmer, chewier texture. It works well in salads, grain bowls and as a side dish, and is often combined with jasmine and Riceberry in trio rice blends.
