What is Thai Hom Mali rice?
Thai Hom Mali rice is the highest grade of Thai jasmine rice. It is a long grain fragrant rice from the KDML 105 and RD15 varieties, grown mainly in northeast Thailand. Under the Thai Ministry of Commerce standard, rice sold as Thai Hom Mali must contain at least 92% Hom Mali grains. It cooks soft and slightly sticky, with a natural floral aroma.

New crop or old crop Hom Mali?
Hom Mali is harvested once a year, from November to December. New crop rice, milled within a few months of harvest, has the strongest aroma and the softest texture, which suits supermarket and premium retail packs.
Old crop rice, stored for six months or more, cooks firmer and fluffier and absorbs more water. Many restaurants and caterers prefer it. We confirm the crop year on every quotation, so you always know what you are buying.

Yes. Our Thai Hom Mali 100% grade A meets the Thai Ministry of Commerce standard of at least 92% Hom Mali grains, with a maximum of 4% broken kernels. Grade B is also available for buyers who want a lower price.
What is the difference between Hom Mali and jasmine rice?
Thai Hom Mali rice is the highest grade of Thai jasmine rice and must contain at least 92% Hom Mali grains. Jasmine and fragrant rice is a wider category that includes Pathum Thani fragrant rice and blends, which cost less and have a milder aroma.
When is new crop Thai Hom Mali available?
Hom Mali is harvested from November to December each year, so new crop rice usually reaches the export market from December onward. Old crop stock is available for the rest of the year.
